Fan Art Friday, Session November 22, 2013

Every Friday is Fan Art Friday over at the Facebook fanpage, this means that everyone can send in their art and it gets published in the page.  It as a little something that I want to share with everyone because people love their characters and they love even more giving them a touch of themselves.

The blog may not be as "social" as Facebook, but it does have its own resonance.  I think the artists might eventually run into this post and get blown away by seeing their art elsewhere.

It's a labour of love and I just can't help it but to love the spirit behind it.

Meet the new Nightwing!

What do you say?  There's been a little outrage in the interwebs.  No, it didn't break like when Ben Affleck was announced to be the next Batman.  But then again, does Adam Driver have what it takes to be Nightwing?  Keep in mind that Dick Grayson is supposed to be one of the hottest guy in comics.  As in sizzling hot.

Thoughts?

Spoiler-Free Comic Book Review: Batman 1-7

Batman 1-7 (2011-2012)
Publisher:  DC Comics
Writer: Scott Snyder
Penciller: Greg Capullo
Review by: Will Mitchel of Completely Comics

Batman #1-7. OMG.. why haven't I been reading this book? Hmm.. basically because I have to be in the right mood to read Batman. So, it's taken me seven months to pick it up. Okay.. so I devoured it, and loved every morsel.

From the mystery of the Court of Owls, to the tension with Dick. To the worry that Jim and Alfred have for him. This is a fantastic story arc, all the way around. We learn more about the mystery of Gotham's past and the Court of Owls in bits and pieces through out the story, just enough to tease us to keep coming back for more. Scott Snyder is a machine. He was designed to write Batman.

The artwork is fantastic. The art style compliments the story perfectly. The art goes a little wonky during Bruce's labyrinth visit, but that's only because he was hallucinating. The art is dark and foreboding when it needs to be, and gets you deeper involved into the story.

The revelations we find out in #7 are mind-blowing. You will be blown away by this book. Do yourself a favor and go buy this. 5/5.

They live in a batcave, they have all the money in the world, they don't sparkle.

Superhero Hotline featuring Robin

-Oh, Robin, you're just the guy I was looking for.
-I'm glad to serve, sir. Please state your emergency and we'll see what we can do for you.
-"We?" I was only thinking of you. It's not as if I wanted you two at the same time. It would be a little overwhelming--
-I'm the sidekick, sir. Batman is the one with the experience. I always follow his lead.
-Well, I hadn't considered it that way-- Would the two of you be okay with it?
-Sure, sir, you should see Batman do his acrobatics and he has all kind of wonderful toys in his Batbelt.
-Now, Robin, I think we have a deal. So, how you charge?
-Holy business, sir! We do it for free!
-What? As in a hobby?
-Of course, sir, we're devoted to the people.
-No wonder you have so many fans.
-You flatter us, sir, we just do what we can to please everybody.
-Well, when can I get the two of you into my place?
-Just state your emergency and address and we'll be on our way.
-Great!

From the other side of the Batcave:
-Robin, will you hang up the phone?
-Give me a second, sir. Batman, why should I do that? This man has an emergency!
-Just hang up, Robin. That call is not what you think it is.
-Holey phoney calls, Batman!

Back on the phone. Robin:
-Sir, I have to hang up. You're not tricking me this time! This death trap has the whole stink of the Penguin!

At the other side of the Batcave, Batman just sighed.

Batman Slaps Robin. Again.

Privacy and secrets are so 90's.

It's about time Batman joins us in this new era, when we can't hide a thing and there's always Facebook to spill every little dirty detail. Not that this was Batman's biggest secret, anyway.

So, have you had any privacy issues with Facebook? We heard super-heroes were having a real hard time, working on double profiles for both of their heroic and civilian identities. How has it worked for you?
